EET OUR STUDENT VETS
REBECCA “BECKY” PARRY
Hi, I’m Becky. I am currently in the final stages of training to be a Veterinary Surgeon. I have particular interests in small animal neurology and cardiology and I am part of an ongoing neurological research project studying MRI scans of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with Chiari-like malformation and syringomyelia. I’ve always loved learning about how the body works and before starting my veterinary training I attained a first class honours degree in Biology. Outside of vet school, I enjoy horse-riding and going for walks with my miniature Dachshund, Minnie. BSc Biology 1st class hons (University of Nottingham). 4th Year BVMSci Veterinary Medicine (University of Surrey).
Hi, I’m Nicole. I’m currently near the end of my training to become a Veterinary Surgeon and I cannot wait to finally qualify next year! I studied Biology for three years at the University of Bristol and I’ve always had a passion for clinical science and research. I’ve undertaken many placements across a spectrum of animals including companion animals, farm animals and horses, but I definitely love working with owners and their dogs and cats most. On the side of my studies, I’m currently working on a research project assessing the caregiving burden of owners with dogs that are suffering from inherited diseases. Through this work, I am advocating for tighter legislation and more elaborate screening protocols to be implemented to reduce the prevalence of certain genetic diseases in pedigree and crossbred brachycephalic breeds. When I’m trying to relax, I love cooking, planning trips and of course cuddling up with my chocolate Labrador. Visit my LinkedIn for more! You can read more of my work on the British Veterinary Association website, namely my articles on the scale of legal wildlife trade and OVs and post Brexit, and by visiting the online library section of The University Of Surrey website.
MEET THE AUTHORS
A lover of all animals, especially dogs! I love to learn about the way they think, and what we as pet owners can do to better their lives. So what better way, than to write fun, informative content?! When I’m not typing away, you can find me trying to cook a new recipe (and failing), or of course playing with the dog
An all round animal lover, who absolutely adores writing and researching anything puppy! Over the past few years, I have been able to gain ample pet knowledge; specifically joint health and dental hygiene. When I'm not typing away in the office, I can be found sitting in a country pub or growing chillies
Writer, blogger and crazy cat lady - I'm at my happiest when writing away with my sidekick, Milo, at my feet. When I'm not researching and writing about the latest pet health tips, you can find me out running with my parent's dog, or curled up with a good book!
Comes from a family of animal lovers and got to grow up with a menagerie of pets! I believe owning a pet is a privilege and I love researching and creating informative, fun content for fellow pet owners to help their furry friends have the happiest and healthiest lives. When I’m not writing blogs, you can find me sharing a walk with my pet dachshund or at a yoga class!
